Shout outs to Teresa

I am told that there is at least ONE loyal reader still out there.
Weird.

Anyhoo...
Laura and I travelled to Regina again today, shot a buncha bankers. (How great does THAT sound ?) Actually, we were shooting Credit Union functionaries.. MUCH nicer than bankers ever could be.
Once again we were stuffed into a tiny "full size" rental car...AACK. I don't know if they just say whatever comes into their head, or what ? At least, we were travelling light for a change.

The flight back to Winnipeg was delayed for a couple of hours, (at flight time) and we were at the mercy of a teenage channel-changer. I know a lot more about Brittney et al plus we enjoyed the top 10 "Hair band" videos. Good thing they sell beer on the air-side. This feature is not always in place.

Laura got a nice new shirt. Apparently it went over VERY well.

It never gets old for me

We subscribe to "Google Alerts" which tip us off whenever our keywords are posted to a separate site. It's still pretty cool to find out that the Chinese (?) are able to see samples of the show. And I like to think that where it's available, it's being watched, though my Xíngshēngzì
is not so good, i can't be sure.

Just for the Record

I don't expect anyone will read this, but if I put it here, i might remember the details longer.
First off, big shout-outs to our pals at CKCK television in Regina. We arrived in the Queen city to shoot a little industrial piece, but our gear missed the plane in Winnipeg. They told us that it would arrive by 7:20 AM. Avis then provided us with the smallest "midsize" car EVER. After a night in a hotel which had many similarities with a large cinder block, I went back to the airport at the appointed time, and they said the stuff missed the plane in Saskatoon. "Come back at 11." Unfortunately, we were scheduled to shoot, out of town , at 9:30. It was election day in Saskatchewan , so every piece of EFP gear in the province was spoken-for, but Laura's contact at the local CTV affiliate climbed up into the rafters and found us a lighting kit and most of a tripod. Laura got verbal directions, which left out the last turn, so we roared out to the countryside, blasting WAY past Weyburn. Through what was probably a radar/camera combination growing out of the prairie in the middle of nowhere..."What's that thing ? It looks like.... a camera... and a radar gun...no flash though... maybe we dodged THAT bullet"
We did the shoot in Weyburn, and after a fast McCrappy meal, we raced back to Regina... Once again, the gear didn't make it. Laura played "Bad Cop" on the phone using such words as "outrageous" and "horrendous" - eventually WestJet gave us $300 in credits... but the gear didn't show up until after 6. Another shoot with the "Mystery Gear" then it was off to Saskatoon by tiny car. We were lucky with conditions, so we kept to the "terrifying" speed. By morning, the ground was covered in snow.
We picked up the phone which had been left behind when Picante moved out, and took in a meeting at Centre Mall. We shot some stills for reference, then ran around downtown for a bit 'til we found the place to drop off the phone. A quick stop for some more talking head shots...
, and we flew back.
